New York & City Lovers
Some people leave New York, but New York never quite leaves them. For the friend who still talks about their first apartment in the city, the couple who got engaged in Central Park or the traveler who's been to every borough twice, a hand-painted Limoges box is a love letter to the skyline. It's small enough for a carry-on and arrives gift-boxed, which is more than you can say for most souvenirs.
Yellow Cabs and Skyline Views
The streets here are lined with yellow taxis (one even says "I Love New York"), a shiny Big Apple, the Statue of Liberty on her pedestal and the Empire State Building with little cars at its feet. King Kong makes a dramatic appearance, Santa visits the skyline at Christmas and an old city view captures the twin towers. A London black cab drops by for the true urbanite. Every box is hand-painted in France and hinged, with a tiny secret inside for a subway token or a ring.
A Skyline That Grows One Box at a Time
City lovers often collect by landmark, and New York gives you plenty to choose from. Start with a classic taxi, then add Lady Liberty, then a skyscraper, and soon you have your own skyline. Line them along a narrow windowsill, gather them on a black lacquer tray, or tuck them into a bookcase alongside travel guides. Mix in other cities you've loved for a well-traveled shelf.
