4th of July & Patriotic
Hot dogs, fireworks, a picnic blanket in the backyard: the Fourth of July is pure Americana. Heading to a barbecue, lake house or family reunion? Skip the flag paper plates and bring Limoges 4th of July and patriotic gifts instead. Each box is hand-painted in France, hinged, and arrives gift-boxed. It is the rare red, white and blue decoration that does not head back to the attic in August.
Old Glory waves on hearts, squares and classic boxes, and a Don't Tread On Me flag flies for the history buff. Lady Liberty holds her torch high, Mount Rushmore looks on, and the White House and the Pentagon stand at attention. Uncle Sam's hat, a 1776 box and a patriotic cake bring the party, while a mama and papa pig dressed in stars and stripes steal the show. A bald eagle keeps watch over the whole parade.
Patriotic boxes are a favorite with collectors who love history, travel or simply a good summer party. Start with a flag and add monuments over the years, building a little National Mall of your own. Arrange them on a mantel for summer holidays, line them up next to presidential biographies, or keep them out year-round in the den. Happy Fourth, and pass the potato salad.
