Mouse Collectors
Nobody wants a mouse in the house, unless it is hand-painted in France and perched on a wedge of cheese. Mice have charmed readers of storybooks for generations, and Limoges mouse boxes are just as lovable. They make playful gifts for cheese lovers, children's book fans and anyone who enjoys life's tiny, funny details. Each one is hinged and arrives gift-boxed, and not a crumb will go missing from the pantry.
These little rascals keep busy. One naps on a slab of cheese, a pair kisses under sunflowers and another serenades his sweetheart among the flowers. Some designs feature three hinges, like a mouse house with a cheeseburger feast or a mouse balanced on a golf ball. Look for mice painting a masterpiece, learning their ABCs, riding a carnival swing and running a race. A wind-up mouse and a mouse with its trap add mischief, and two owls share their branch with a snow mouse at Christmas.
Mouse collectors love the storytelling, since each box is a tiny scene and a shelf of them reads like a picture book. Start with a classic mouse on cheese, then add musicians, artists and carnival riders. They look adorable along a kitchen shelf or tucked into a bookcase where guests discover them one by one. A mouse in an unexpected spot always gets a laugh. Say cheese.
