Santa Collectors
Every family has a Christmas keeper, the one who unpacks the decorations the day after Thanksgiving and knows exactly where each piece goes. A Limoges Santa box is the gift that joins that ritual for good. Give one to a grandmother who collects, a couple starting their own traditions or a child who will unwrap it every December for decades. Each Santa is hand-painted in France, hinged and arrives gift-boxed. It beats another reindeer sweater, and nobody has to pretend to love it.
This Santa keeps a busy schedule. You may find him in his sleigh with reindeer, sliding down the chimney, warming up by the fireplace and settling a child on his lap in a red or green coat. He travels in style too, by train, by car and even by airplane. Toy bags, toy chests, Christmas stockings and a letter to Santa add to the North Pole bustle. Many lids open to reveal a little hiding spot that feels like a present inside a present.
A Santa is a cherished first-Christmas gift for a baby or a newly married couple, and a lovely Secret Santa surprise for a coworker. Collectors often add one new Santa every year so the collection grows right along with the family. Parade them across the mantel among evergreen garland, or gather them under a tabletop tree on the entry table. After the holidays they rest in their gift boxes until next season. Ho, ho, hinged.
