Christmas Tree & Gingerbread Collectors
The tree is up, the cookies are cooling and someone is already humming carols. Limoges Christmas tree and gingerbread boxes capture the coziest part of the season in hand-painted French porcelain. They're perfect for the holiday decorator, the cookie baker and the friend who leaves the tree up until February. Each one is hinged and arrives gift-boxed, ready to slip under the tree.
The trees here are trimmed in every style. Look for trees topped with stars, draped in gold garland or magnolias, tucked with a manger or a nativity and surrounded by gifts and teddy bears. A white and gold tree hides a removable dove, a triptych tree opens in panels and one tree even holds a doll inside. The gingerbread crew is just as festive, with gingerbread houses, a gingerbread nutcracker and a Santa gingerbread man with a removable peppermint. Lift a lid and tuck in a candy, a ring or a Christmas wish.
Add one new tree or gingerbread box every December and the collection becomes a family story. Arrange a forest on the mantel among the greenery, gather the gingerbread on a cake stand or set one at each place for Christmas dinner. They make lovely stocking stuffers, Secret Santa picks and hostess gifts at holiday parties. Many families give one to each child to mark a first Christmas. It's the sweetest tradition, and it never goes stale.
